Lucy Tucknott

There are many reasons we seek support from counselling – all of which matter to me. First and foremost, I am a human being with lived experience and this mutual connection is where we start our therapeutic journey together. My passion is to accompany you to move from a place of suffering, fear, anxiety, uncertainty, disconnection and oftentimes overwhelm to a place of stability and a more present and connected way of living your life.

I do this by creating a safe space in our sessions for you to be heard, take a breath, where together we will explore what needs tending to. Without being the expert on you I will facilitate a process for you to find the strength within to grow and move forward.

I have experience in working with teens, young adults, and adults from all walks of life. I am trauma informed. After qualification I have undertaken training in Trauma Therapy with Babette Rothschild, one of the leading trainers in this field of work.  I have specialist knowledge in Somatic Trauma Therapy and other approaches to therapy. This means together we can explore an approach that suits you.

I will offer you warmth, compassion, honesty and a safe space to explore whatever you bring to our sessions without judgement. I offer counselling which covers many of the struggles that life can bring. Together we can build a trusting and confidential therapeutic relationship in which change can occur.

Initially we will meet for a no obligation introductory session to allow you to ask any questions you might have and for us to discuss what has brought you to counselling and what you’re hoping to get out of it. You can then decide if you would like to book further sessions. I usually suggest we book in six sessions to begin with and then review how things are going.

I am also a group facilitator, WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) trainer and facilitator. I am part of the LGBTQ+ community. I am also Gender Sexual & Relationship Diversity (GSRD) and neurodiversity friendly.

If you would like to work one-to-one with me using Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) as a model for exploring how to better self-manage your wellbeing please ask for more information. Alternatively take a look at the website.

I work in Newhaven and Lewes.

My fees are £50.00 per session with some funded/concessions available.  Please talk to me to see if I have any concessionary appointments available.
