Coastal Wellbeing will always treat your information with respect.  Coastal Wellbeing collects personal information from participants applying for WRAP courses, counselling clients and from people who have signed up to our email newsletter via MailChimp, our marketing automation platform.

What personal data Coastal Wellbeing collects and why we collect it:

All WRAP Courses
Coastal Wellbeing collects your name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, an emergency contact and any medical conditions you feel we should know about in case of emergency.  We collect this information for the purpose of keeping you informed about the WRAP course you have applied for and, whilst you are in attendance on the course, ensuring that we have information to help you in the event of an emergency situation or if you disclose an intention to cause harm to yourself or someone else.

In an emergency situation or as a result of disclosure to harm yourself or someone else, it may become necessary to share your data for the lawful reason of it being necessary to protect your life or the life of someone else.  In this instance, Coastal Wellbeing may need to share your information with the emergency contact named on your application form and/or the emergency services.

Coastal Wellbeing will not share your information with any other third parties without your permission.

Coastal Wellbeing stores paper application forms in secure locked storage.  Any application forms received via email are password protected.  Application forms will be kept until the expiry or termination of the contract to deliver the course. After this time Coastal Wellbeing will dispose of application forms as confidential waste.

The application form asks for your consent to use your data in this way.

WRAP for Carers Courses
Coastal Wellbeing is required by the Commissioners to provide specific pieces of information (postcode and date of birth, but not name and address) for the purposes of monitoring equality and provision of services. No information that would identify you as an individual will be published.  We respect your confidentiality in all that we do.  If you would prefer us not to provide this information to the Commissioners, you have the right to object (see below). This will not affect your access to the course.

Counselling Clients
Coastal Wellbeing collects your name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, GP details, an emergency contact and any medical conditions you feel we should know about in case of emergency.  We collect this information for the purpose of keeping you informed about appointments and, whilst you are attending a counselling appointment, ensuring that we have information to help you in the event of an emergency situation or if you disclose an intention to cause harm to yourself or someone else.

In an emergency situation or as a result of disclosure to harm yourself or someone else, it may become necessary to share your data for the lawful reason of it being necessary to protect your life or the life of someone else. In this instance, Coastal Wellbeing may need to share your information with your GP, the emergency contact named on your application form and/or the emergency services.

Coastal Wellbeing will not share your information with any other third parties without your permission.

Coastal Wellbeing stores your personal information in secure locked storage.  This information will be kept for seven years after the end of counselling when it will be disposed of as confidential waste.

The counselling contract and contact details form asks for your consent to use your information in this way.

Email Newsletter
Coastal Wellbeing uses MailChimp to send its email newsletter.  Coastal Wellbeing will use the information you provide on the sign up form to be in touch with you and to provide updates and information about WRAP courses.

Coastal Wellbeing will not share your details with anyone other than Mailchimp, for this purpose.

The sign-up form for the newsletter asks for your consent for your information to be used in this way and you can unsubscribe at any time by following the link at the bottom of each email.

Your rights
